Oaklawn Park Opens January 15
Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs Arkansas will will run its 56-day race meet from Jan. 15-April 10. It features 30 stakes races headed by the $1-million Arkansas Derby.
The Arkansas Derby is an important preparatory race for the 2010 Kentucky Derby and the Triple Crown races.
Oaklawn is also the home of the world famous Racing Festival of the South. The major races for 3-year-olds are the $250,000 Southwest Stakes Feb. 15, the $300,000 Rebel Stakes on March 13, and the Arkansas Derby on closing day.
